Alexander Vakhitov is a computer vision / artificial intelligence professional based in London, UK, with 15 years of expertise in the field, including AI in robotics, generative AI methods in computer vision and graphics, and computer vision for 3D geometry and reconstruction.   • 2020-now: Staff Research Engineer at Slamcore Ltd., a London-based startup co-founded by Prof. Andrew Davison and Prof. Stefan Leutenegger. Working on AI methods for mapping and localization in robotics.

  • 2018-2020: Project Leader / Staff Engineer in the VIOLET lab, Samsung AI Center, under the leadership of Prof. Victor Lempitsky. Worked on photorealistic 3D human avatars for augmented/mixed reality applications.

  • 2016-2018: Senior Researcher in the group of Prof. Victor Lempitsky. Worked on AI in Robotics, in particular representation learning and learnable geometric robot perception.

  • 2016-2018: Co-Founder of CapretVR, a start-up focused on a smartphone-based VR system. Was a principal designer and developer of real-time smartphone-based low-latency localization system.

  • 2015-2016: Visiting Researcher in IRI (Barcelona) working with Francesc Moreno-Noguer, and in NII, Tokyo, working with Yinqiang Zheng.

  • 2010-2015: Co-Founder and CTO of Digital Vision Labs, principal leader of software design and development, creator of 3D perception technologies for road vehicle identification and speed estimation on embedded platforms.
